Sculptra Aesthetic injectable is used to reverse the signs of facial fat loss that occur with aging. By restoring collagen, which decreases as the body ages, it fills out shallow to deep wrinkles and folds that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds). It also works to add volume to the overall face. Certified as an Expert Injector, Dr. Gordon specializes in natural looking results from dermal injections.
"BEST & MOST HONEST SURGEONI went for consultation with Dr. James Gordon. I told him I wanted him to do anything that would make me look better, thereby giving him cart-blanche. He said that I should just do my lower eyelid blepharoplasty, because it would be the biggest bang for the buck. I asked about fillers and my upper eyelids. The good doctor explained that he could perform additional procedures, but I should focus on what would really make the most significant difference. THANK YOU !"- Anonymous / Healthgrades / Feb 24, 2016
"Wonderful experience with fillers! - As a nurse practitioner with over 13 years experience working in the medical field, choice of provider was very important to me when I decided to get facial fillers. I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Dr. Gordon and his staff. I had a total of two syringes of Restylane placed in my cheeks and under eyes, over two sessions, three weeks apart. I'm very happy with the results! My dark circles have decreased and youthful volume returned to my cheeks. Very happy customer!"- E. / RealSelf / Apr 09, 2017

"Will return to see you, Dr. Gordon! - Dr. Gordon did my blepharoplasty (upper & lower) few months back in 2016. The results were great; exceeded my expectations. Even though I'm not 100% recovered, many friends commented how fresh I look. It was a natural and not over-done look. I like it very much, and will return to Dr. Gordon to seek other treatments."- Anonymous / Vitals / Apr 13, 2017
About The Procedure
Once Dr. Gordon and the patient decide on a treatment plan with Sculptra, the procedure can be performed in the minor procedures room. For longer lasting results, clinical studies show that patients who receive 3 Sculptra sessions over the course of several months will keep their results for 2 years or more. If needed, Dr. Gordon can use numbing creams of local anesthesia to minimize patient discomfort during the treatment.
During/After The Procedure
Patients may leave immediately after the procedure or as soon as they feel comfortable and resume their normal schedule. Some patients may have redness or swelling in the treated areas, but they should be fully recovered in 3 – 5 days. Patients should schedule a follow up visit to Dr. Gordon 1 – 2 weeks after their procedure so Dr. Gordon can document the patient’s results and check the patient’s overall health.
Dr. Gordon calculates the cost of a Sculptra treatment session based on the amount of syringes that are used to achieve the patient’s goals. Typically, a single session costs between $800 and 1,600.

Sculptra Aesthetic's main component is an alpha hydroxy acid called poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is a safe and long-lasting synthetic, but also a biodegradable substance. PLLA has been used for more than 20 years in many surgical products, including dissolvable sutures and soft-tissue implants.
To speed healing and results after Sculptra treatments, Dr. Gordon suggests that patients apply cold compresses to the area for the first 24 hours after the procedure to decrease the swelling. Patients should also avoid sun exposure as much as possible and any artificial UV lights, such as tanning beds. For the first 5 days after the procedure, patients should massage the treated area for up to 5 minutes to help evenly distribute the product.
Sculptra was approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for cosmetic use in the U.S. in 2009. Since then, Sculptra has been used as a safe, efficient dermal fillers on patients seeking relief from shallow to moderate deep lines and wrinkles.
