Overview

Dysport is an injectable wrinkle relaxer that treats moderate to severe facial lines for a smoother, but not frozen face. Dysport is a form of botulinum toxin (type A) that temporarily and safely reduces muscle activity in the treated areas of the face. Once the muscles are relaxed, lines created by years of repetitive muscle contractions are decreased. Oculofacial plastic surgeon and Expert Injector, Dr. James Gordon is well known for his expertise in refined injection techniques that lift and rejuvenate the aging face.

About The Procedure

Dr. Gordon usually performs Dysport treatments in his minor procedures room in about 15 minutes once the patient’s consultation is complete. Dysport is most often used on the frown lines above and between the eyebrows. Dr. Gordon carefully places the injections at about 5 points on the face, so the needed areas are relaxed, but the rest of the face will still move normally.

During/After The Procedure

Patients are able to leave immediately after their Dysport treatment and resume light to moderate activities. Patients may have short term redness and swelling right after the treatment, but it will clear quickly. After their treatment, patients should avoid any strenuous activity for the first few hours. 1 – 2 weeks after the procedure.

Expected Cost

Dysport injections by Dr. Gordon can cost from $500 - $1,000 per session. The cost is calculated based on the amount of Dysport used.

Dysport FAQs

Why Dysport?

Dysport can be injected with precision so they treatment does not spread beyond where it is wanted. This allows certain facial muscles to relax, while the rest are unaffected. This is important because the patient still has the freedom to create expressions, like shock and surprise, instead of a frozen, expressionless face.

Expected Results?

Patients usually begin to see their best results 2 – 3 days after their treatment. Results typically last 4 months, but patients find that with regular treatment, their results begin to last longer.

Dysport Vs. BOTOX?

Dysport and BOTOX are both injectable wrinkle relaxers made from botulinum toxin (type A), but Dysport comes in different dosage amounts. While similar, BOTOX and Dysport have subtle differences that Dr. Gordon has studied to ensure that he chooses the right treatment for each patient.
